Pony running at large on Ramage Road

On Saturday, May 10, 2008 PEARL received a call from the Anderson County Sheriff's Department requesting assistance with a pony found wandering on Ramage Road in Townville. We arrived on site and found that the pony, actually a mini horse, had already been contained in a small round pen. We transported the horse to PEARL's quarantine facility for safekeeping until the owner is located.

The horse is a sorrel stallion about 10 years old. He appears to be in good health, recently groomed, and hooves trimmed.

We talked with several media outlets to publicize the case and help find the owner. The news stories are here.

On Sunday, May 11, we were contacted by the owners, and made an appointment for the next day for them to identify the horse. On Monday he was returned to his home, located about 2 miles from where he was picked up. The owners said that his name is Rooster and he escaped while they were at a funeral.
